The Rev. A.J. Heine

The Rev. A. J. Heine serves as Chaplain for St. James Day School in addition to staff assignments of teaching, pastoral care, and young adult ministry.

Fr. A. J. received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Rhodes College, Memphis, TN where he was a member of SAE Fraternity and met his wife, Holly Hubbard Heine, a native of Arkansas.

After several years in Memphis working in sales and marketing he returned to Louisiana to enter private business as a health insurance broker. It was at this time of professional and spiritual growth that A. J. realized a calling to work with people. During his discernment for ministry he served as Vice President for Marketing & Membership for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.

Fr. Heine received a master's of divinity degree at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL where he won the Charles Palmerston Anderson Scholar Award in his middle year for the highest GPA. As a senior, A. J. received the Henry Hoover Leadership Award. He was ordained July 5, 2003 following a call to St. James as curate.

He enjoys reading, movies, camping and kayaking in the Louisiana swamps. A. J. and Holly have two young children, Gus (A. J. III) and Emily.
