5th Sunday January 31st.

Our next 5th Sunday events will be on Sunday, January 31st. featuring an instructed Eucharist with a Gumbo meal for the parish and our homeless neighbors.

Lenten Gumbo Begins on February 19th!

Gumbo 2010 will begin on Friday, February 19th. Mark your calendars so you don't miss out on any of our Gumbo Fridays during Lent. Feb. 19, 26, March 5, 12, 19, and 26 you can dine-in, take-out, and purchase extra for your freezer. Take out orders are placed on Friday mornings from 8:00 am until 10:00 am by calling 225-387-5141. Our convenient drive up line will keep things moving for those on the go. Dine-in from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Bishops Hall. Please come and participate in an annual St. James tradition and enjoy good food and fellowship among parishioners and fellow patrons.

Lenten Labyrinth

Plan to join us on Wednesdays during Lent to walk the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth will be available from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Feb. 24, March 3,10, 17, & 24th in Bishops Hall.

Easter Term Christian Formation
January 10th - Parish-wide Epiphany Event, Feast of the Baptism with Fr. John giving a short overview of baptism.
January 17th - Annual Meeting (No Christian Formation, but children's activities for those too young to participate in the Annual Meeting).
January 31st - Fifth Sunday Instructed Eucharist.
February 7th - Parish Adult Christian Education Classes to be announced.
February 14th - Burying the Alleluias (Parish-wide), Adult Christian Education classes cointinue through March 21st. Lenten classes from Fr. John (scripture-based) and Mtr. Laurie (contemporary theology).
March 28th - Palm Sunday with Parish-wide cross making.
April 4th - Easter Sunday - Parish-wide Easter activities.
April 11th - May 16th - Parish Adult Christian Education Classes.
May 23rd - Pentecost celebration for the Parish.
Other Offerings:
Fr. Mark will hold his adult confirmation class Jan 24, 31 and Feb. 7, 14.

Lenten programs will include meditations during Gumbo on Fridays in Lent, the Labyrinth on Wednesdays during Lent.

The Center also has several programs upcoming, including the Trinity Institute web-cast, "Building an Ethical Economy;" Lenten Spa Day for the Soul on March 5th and 6th; and Earth Day activities.
